Update: The app was not operational when o tried it. I will update (if I remember) when the complete version comes out.

It only has a 24 hour timer with no option to change that or set fixed times for check-ins. Setting more than one fixed check in time is a feature I need.

Jeremy, All of those are errors. What you have is the beta version for testing, we did not expect anyone to download as we are still submitting updates to apple. Just Checking In is personal for us and we truly hope to fulfill everyone expectations. The final version being released in the coming weeks operates as such; We set the fixed time for 24 hrs as the current standard for checking in and our users can reset the clock by checking in earlier at the time they wish to be alerted. When you do not check in within 24 hours you are sent 3 alerts reminding you to check in, after the 3rd alert, if you haven't checked in your emergency contacts will be sent a text to check in on you. We discovered that the most effective and fastest way to reach anyone in case of an emergency are their loved ones. Your review and rating effects what we are wanting to accomplish with this app. Please update and give us another try when we launch the final versions. Good idea but not quite there

I just updated to the latest version so I hope it solves more problems. I have been testing it to see if it will work for my dad in his 70s. So far. Nope. I only get the SMS alerts to check in sometimes and for some reason they don’t alarm. I can’t quite figure out why not. And i only get one shot sometimes and then my emergency contact is notified. It also didn’t register if I logged in a few minutes late for the day and still alerted my contact. I like the idea of being about to adjust the alert time. 24 hours is good for me but maybe a 3 hour window would be better for someone older. But they need to be prompted to respond a few times, maybe with a continuous sound option like a morning alarm clock.

Love this app!

I really enjoy this app. It keeps me connected to my grandparents. Everything is easy and efficient to check-in with them on the daily bases. It brings my grandma joy when she receives a message from me. Kudos to the creators. I’ve definitely recommended this to a few of my friends.
